New Delhi, 17 APRIL 2025: The Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day with great fervor and pride at the Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt. Sangita Saxena, educationist and social worker who honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. Smt. Ritu Arora, President of PFWS, along with former presidents, core committee members, and other distinguished guests, was also present. Delhi Police Families from all 13 Welfare Centres also participated reflecting the strong sense of unity and community.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, led by the Hon’ble Chief Guest marking an auspicious beginning to the day’s events. This was followed by a warm welcome address by Smt. Ritu Arora, who shared the Society’s ongoing commitment to the holistic welfare of Delhi Police families. She highlighted several key initiatives, including the inauguration of a new wing, ‘Smita’, and a host of other empowering programmes such as simulator-based two-wheeler and four-wheeler driving training, soft skills workshops, computer literacy classes and online sessions aimed at personal and professional development.
An audio-visual presentation offered attendees a glimpse into the wide range of welfare schemes and initiatives implemented by PFWS over the years. The presentation reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering dedication to the well-being of police families, showcasing its multifaceted approach to community upliftment.
A key moment of the celebration was the unveiling of the 9th edition of PFWS’s annual magazine, ‘Koshish Ek Asha’, by the Chief Guest, Smt. Sangita Saxena, accompanied by Smt. Ritu Arora and the core committee members. The launch of its digital edition further emphasized PFWS’s forward-looking approach and commitment to accessible communication across its community.
In recognition of exemplary performance, awards were presented to the top three Welfare Centres for their outstanding contribution in disseminating information and implementing welfare schemes. New Police Lines was awarded Best Welfare Centre followed by Ahata Kidara in second place and Shalimar Bagh securing third position.
The highlight of the day was the spiritual talk on stress management and inner peace, delivered by the renowned life coach Shri Gaur Gopal Das. His insightful session focused on managing stress and achieving a state of inner peace, offering valuable tools for emotional well-being. Following the talk, Shri Gaur Gopal Das engaged in a live Q&A session, allowing Delhi Police families to interact directly with him. This session was broadcast live on PFWS’s official Facebook and YouTube channels, and all districts and units were connected through video conferencing, ensuring wide participation and engagement across the city.
In her keynote address, Smt. Sangita Saxena praised PFWS and especially the unwavering leadership of Smt. Ritu Arora for their tireless efforts toward the welfare, empowerment and upliftment of Delhi Police families. She commended the organization’s dedication to not only providing emotional and social practical tools and resources that significantly enhance quality of life.
The 53rd Foundation Day of PFWS served as a powerful reminder of the strength of community, collaboration and compassion. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the society’s enduring legacy and its continued mission to support and empower the families of Delhi Police personnel.
