Kharge and Rahul Gandhi Pay Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on His Death Anniversary

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) – On Thursday, the Congress, led by its president Mallikarjun Kharge, paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the ‘Father of the Nation’, on the occasion of his death anniversary.

Kharge, expressing his deep reverence for Gandhi, took to his social media platform X, stating, “On Martyrs’ Day, we offer our heartfelt respects to Bapu, the guiding force of our nation.”

He went on to highlight Gandhi’s enduring legacy, saying, “His principles of Truth (Satya), Non-Violence (Ahimsa), Welfare of All (Sarvodaya), and Equal Respect for All Religions (Sarvadharma Sambhava) continue to inspire and guide our path.”

Kharge emphasized the need to uphold Gandhi’s ideals in today’s world, saying, “We must stand firm in opposing those who seek to undermine his vision of equality and progress for all.” He urged the nation to stay united, adding, “Let’s protect India’s rich tapestry of unity in diversity, ensuring justice and equality for everyone.”

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, also paid his respects to the revered leader. Reflecting on Gandhi’s profound influence, he said, “Gandhiji is not just an individual, but the very soul of India, living on in each and every one of us.”

Rahul Gandhi went on to speak about the timeless power of Gandhi’s ideals, noting, “The strength of truth, non-violence, and fearlessness is so potent that it can shake the foundations of even the mightiest empire. These ideals continue to inspire the world over.”

Concluding his tribute, Rahul added, “A thousand salutations to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, our beloved Bapu, on his Martyrdom Day.”
