Manav Rachna Convocation 2024: Chief Guest and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Urges Graduates to Champion India’s Journey of Opportunities and Transformation

Om Birla, Honourable Speaker of the Lok Sabha, graced the occasion as Chief Guest

Faridabad, November 30, 2024: Manav Rachna University (MRU), and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) including its Manav Rachna Dental College (MRDC) and the Manav Rachna Centre for Distance & Online Education (MRCDOE) marked a significant milestone today by hosting the Convocation Ceremony for the Class of 2024. The grand event, held at the Faridabad campus, celebrated the achievements of over 1,500 students from diverse disciplines, honoring their dedication, perseverance, and aspirations.

The Convocation was graced by the esteemed presence of Sh. Om Birla, Honourable Speaker of the Lok Sabha, as the Chief Guest. Delivering the Convocation Address, Sh. Om Birla said, “Graduation is more than receiving a degree, it is a declaration of readiness to embrace a world of endless opportunities. Equipped with knowledge and wisdom, you now carry the torch to light up paths of innovation and transformation. Manav Rachna’s visionary education shapes individuals capable of impacting society profoundly, a testament to the legacy of its founder, Dr. O.P. Bhalla.”

 

Dr. Prashant Bhalla, Chancellor of MRU & MRIIRS and President of MREI, congratulated the graduates with an inspiring message. “To our graduates, you represent the beating heart of this day. Today, we celebrate not only your academic triumphs but the grit, perseverance, and passion that have brought you here. This is a day to honor your dreams and your journey, as well as the invaluable contributions of your families and faculty who have been your pillars of support,” he said. Dr. Bhalla added, “As you step into the world, carry forward the legacy of Manav Rachna, built on values of excellence, integrity, and innovation. The future demands resilience and adaptability, and I urge you to lead with courage, empathy, and purpose in shaping a developed India.”

Sh. Vipul Goel, Cabinet Minister, Government of Haryana, presided as the Guest of Honour and extended heartfelt wishes to the graduates. He remarked, “Wherever life takes you, never forget your roots and culture. Your unique identity as a Manav Rachna graduate will shine wherever you go. I commend Manav Rachna for its relentless pursuit of excellence, and this convocation is yet another feather in its cap as it continues to achieve global recognition.”

Reflecting the institutions’ robust academic framework, the convocation celebrated academic achievements with degrees conferred across a spectrum of programs. MRIIRS awarded 708 undergraduate, 344 postgraduate, and 66 doctoral degrees, while MRU conferred 392 undergraduate, 50 postgraduate, and 22 doctoral degrees. Special recognitions included 45 toppers and 13 awardees from MRIIRS and 10 toppers and 12 awardees from MRU. These degrees were granted for 26 postgraduate, 39 undergraduate & Ph.D. programs at MRIIRS, alongside 7 postgraduate. 22 undergraduate & Ph.D. programs at MRU. These milestones underscore Manav Rachna’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation.

A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of Honoris Causa degrees upon 10 distinguished personalities for their exemplary contributions in fields such as sports, education, and governance.

Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Vice Chancellor of MRIIRS, and Dr. Deependra Jha, Vice Chancellor of MRU, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the transformative power of education. Dr. Deependra Jha remarked, “At MRU, we nurture compassionate leaders and responsible citizens. Our graduates are equipped with 21st-century skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, ready to break the mold and shape the world.” Dr. Sanjay Srivastava added, “Today marks a significant turning point in your life. The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note, with a call to action for the graduates to carry forward the values and vision instilled by Manav Rachna.
