Delhi Traffic Police hosts Raahgiri Day in Connaught Place Promoting Sustainable Mobility & Road Safety

New Delhi 18.02.24- Delhi Traffic Police, in collaboration with the Raahgiri Foundation and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), orchestrated a vibrant Raahgiri Programme at the Inner Circle of Connaught Place on February 18, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 09:00 AM. The event was a testament to the collective effort towards fostering sustainable and livable cities, with a particular emphasis on sustainable mobility initiatives.

Various units of the Delhi Police showcased their commitment to community engagement and public safety during the event. Personnel from the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) demonstrated essential self-defense techniques, while the IV Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police (DAP) treated attendees to an orchestral performance. Additionally, the Crime Branch’s Dog Squad conducted captivating demonstrations, adding an element of excitement to the proceedings.

A plethora of attractions awaited attendees, all geared towards promoting road safety and fostering a healthier lifestyle. The Road Safety Cell of the Delhi Traffic Police set up a Help-desk and displayed a mobile exhibition van showcasing crucial road safety measures. A Pledge Wall and a Selfie-Stand were also erected to encourage safe two-wheeler riding practices, inviting participants to take a pledge and capture memorable moments while promoting safety.

Moreover, a quiz competition centered around road safety and traffic rules drew enthusiastic participation, with deserving winners duly honored for their knowledge and commitment to safer streets.

In tandem with the Raahgiri Foundation’s mission to promote wellness and physical activity, various engaging activities were organized, including cycling, skating, zumba, and yoga sessions. These activities garnered widespread participation from individuals across all demographics, underscoring the community’s eagerness to embrace healthier lifestyle choices and sustainable modes of transportation.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, with people from diverse backgrounds converging upon Connaught Place to partake in the festivities with unparalleled zeal and enthusiasm.
