New double circuit line completed for improved power supply in five districts

Raipur : Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company has achieved a major milestone in improving power supply capacity in Chhattisgarh. A new double circuit line from the 765 kV Dhamdha substation to the 220 kV Gaindpur substation for the state grid has been installed and energized. This line will significantly increase the capacity to receive power from the central grid. It will also ensure more reliable and quality power supply in five districts.

This significant milestone has been achieved in strengthening the state’s power infrastructure under the direction and guidance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Principal Secretary Energy and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, Subodh Kumar Singh. The power supply was energized by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Shukla, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company.

On this occasion, Mr. Shukla informed that the 220 kV Dhamdha-Gaindpur transmission line has been successfully charged and synchronized with the Power Grid’s 765/400/220 kV substation at Dhamdha-Medsara in Durg district. The energization of this double-circuit line will improve power exchange between four major 220 kV substations: Gaindpur (Kawardha), Mungeli, Bemetara, and Suhela. Previously, there were three 220 kV lines for this purpose, but now there are five. This will ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply in Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Mungeli, Bemetara, and Balodabazar-Bhatapara districts. This will ensure continued power supply even in the event of a technical fault on the Dhamdha-Gaindpur line. This new line will play a crucial role in ensuring improved and uninterrupted power supply to industrial, agricultural, and domestic consumers.

Executive Director (Line) Sanjay Patel, Executive Director (PC & RA) K. S. Manothia, Executive Director (Transmission) V. K. Dixit, Chief Engineer (Project) P. Gosavi, Chief Engineer (Sub-Station) Abraham Varghese, Additional Chief Engineer Manoj Rai and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
