Bhopal: In a chilling crime reported from Mandsaur, a woman and her partner have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband, dismembering the body, and attempting to conceal the crime by burning and burying the remains.
According to police officials, the victim, identified as Dhanraj Nath (39), was killed after being lured to a farm in the Bhanpura area. The accused, including his wife Dhapu (36) and her partner Pankaj Chaudhary (40), allegedly carried out the murder as part of a premeditated plan.
Sub-divisional police officer Vijay Kumar Yadav stated that the victim was aware of the relationship between the two accused, which had led to frequent disputes at home. Investigators believe this tension ultimately escalated into a planned crime.
Police said the accused called Nath to the farm on April 10 under the pretext of resolving the issue. It was there that he was allegedly killed. In an attempt to dispose of the body, the accused reportedly cut it into pieces and tried to burn the remains to destroy evidence. However, when this failed, they buried the body parts in a pit dug using a JCB machine on the farm.
The crime came to light after the victim’s son filed a missing person complaint, suspecting foul play and naming Chaudhary. During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed, leading police to recover the remains from the खेत.
Authorities have also seized weapons believed to have been used in the murder, including swords and a crowbar. The remains have been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police are now probing whether any other individuals were involved in the crime, while further forensic analysis is underway to establish the sequence of events.
