Maharashtra Police Clinches Title in the Final of 2nd All India Police Cricket T-20 Tournament 2025–26

Maharashtra Police defeated RPF to win the 2nd All India Police Cricket T20 Tournament 2025–26 final at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi after posting a massive 251-run total.

New Delhi- The grand finale of the 2nd All India Police Cricket Pilot T-20 Tournament 2025–26, hosted by Delhi Police, witnessed a thrilling contest between Maharashtra Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.

Winning the toss, the RPF team opted to field first. Batting first, Maharashtra Police delivered an outstanding performance and posted a massive total of 251 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, setting a challenging target of 252 runs for RPF.

In response, the RPF team struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of Maharashtra Police and were bowled out for 160 runs, resulting in a comprehensive victory for Maharashtra Police, who lifted the prestigious championship trophy.

During the first innings, Rohit Paul played a spectacular and aggressive knock of 71 runs off just 19 balls, electrifying the crowd with his powerful hitting. Yogesh Patil also contributed significantly with a brilliant 52 runs off 25 balls.

In the bowling department, Rohit Ramesh Dhere delivered a match-winning spell, claiming 5 crucial wickets for just 23 runs in his 4 overs. For his exceptional all-round impact on the match, he was awarded the “Man of the Match.”

The Chief Guest, Tapan Kumar Deka, Director Intelligence Bureau along with  Satish Golchha, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and senior police officers, presented the winners’ trophy to the Maharashtra Police team. They congratulated both teams for their outstanding performance, discipline, and exemplary sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.

Senior officers including Vijay Kumar, Spl. CP/Armed Police;  Kime Kaming, Jt. CP/Armed Police; Rajendra Singh Sagar, Addl. CP/Armed Police and Organizing Secretary and  Sandeep Byala, DCP/2nd Bn. also congratulated the players for their remarkable performance and appreciated their commitment to excellence.

They emphasized that such tournaments play a vital role in promoting physical fitness, team spirit, and camaraderie among police personnel across the country.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from police teams representing various states and organizations across India. After a series of competitive matches held at different venues, Maharashtra Police and RPF emerged as the finalists, displaying exceptional cricketing talent and determination.

The 2nd All India Police Cricket T-20 Tournament 2025–26 successfully showcased the sporting abilities within the police forces and reinforced the spirit of unity, discipline, and healthy competition among law enforcement agencies nationwide.
