Delhi Amar Colony Murder Case: Accused’s Gaming Income, Lifestyle Under Scanner

New Delhi- A disturbing picture is emerging in the Amar Colony murder case in southeast Delhi, where the arrest of Rahul Meena has led investigators to examine his lifestyle, financial habits, and possible motive behind the killing of an IRS officer’s daughter.

According to police officials, Meena allegedly earned money through online card-based gaming platforms and used those earnings to fund a high-spending lifestyle. Investigators say he frequently spent large amounts on nightlife and personal indulgences, which has now become a significant aspect of the inquiry.

Authorities revealed that the accused had previously worked at the victim’s residence, giving him detailed knowledge of the house layout, entry points, and the family’s daily routine. Police believe this familiarity may have played a crucial role in how the crime was executed.

On the day of the incident, Meena is suspected to have entered the building during a time when the victim’s parents were away. He reportedly reached the study area where the young woman was present. Initial findings suggest that when she resisted, the situation escalated into violence, leading to fatal injuries. Investigators are relying on forensic and medical reports to reconstruct the exact sequence of events.

During interrogation, the accused initially claimed the act was an attempted robbery. However, officers remain unconvinced, pointing out that his direct movement to a specific part of the house and the timing of his entry indicate prior intent. Following the crime, Meena allegedly attempted to evade capture by changing his appearance and fleeing with valuables. However, Delhi Police tracked him using surveillance inputs and local intelligence, leading to his arrest in the Dwarka area on the night of April 22.
