Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has been named among the 91 global women shaping the future of culture, in a prestigious list curated by The Shift. The exclusive list celebrates powerful voices across creativity, activism, leadership, and innovation in honour of Gloria Steinem’s 91st birthday, the legendary feminist and cultural icon.
Joining an elite group that includes Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie, Billie Eilish, Amal Clooney, and Zoya Akhtar, Deepika was lauded for her commitment to mental health advocacy and her evolving definition of success that blends well-being with ambition.
Sharing the recognition on Instagram, Deepika wrote:
“In tribute to the one and only Gloria Steinem and her 91 years of activism, The Shift is honoring 90 voices shaping our future. Grateful for the honour… #TheShiftIsOn.”
In the feature, she reflected:
“To me, success isn’t just about professional achievements but also about well-being—where mental health and self-care matter as much as discipline, dedication, and determination. I hope to inspire a generation that values patience, balance, consistency, and authenticity.”
This recognition underscores Deepika’s growing influence far beyond Bollywood. Through her Live Love Laugh Foundation, she has played a key role in normalising mental health conversations in India and around the world. Her work continues to break stigma and empower youth to seek emotional support.
Hollywood Star: Deepika is set to become the first Indian actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026.
Pan-India Action Film: She will be seen next in a high-octane action thriller directed by Atlee, co-starring Allu Arjun. Tentatively titled AA22xA6, the film is backed by Sun Pictures and is already among the most awaited Indian films of 2026.
Kalki 2898 AD Sequel: Deepika will reprise her role in Kalki 2, with the next installment expected to delve deeper into Prabhas’s character and Ashwatthama, played by Amitabh Bachchan.
