CM Mann meets Jalandhar industrialists, discusses issues over lunch

Chandigarh , 5th July 2024 :- Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently held a meeting with traders and businessmen in Jalandhar to discuss and address their concerns. During the meeting, he shared a meal with the attendees and resolved several issues on the spot, promising to tackle the remaining ones soon.

Mann urged the local business community to support Aam Aadmi Party candidate Mohinder Bhagat in the upcoming by-election, suggesting that if elected, he would be made a minister to address the traders’ concerns more effectively.

In his speech, Mann criticized Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal, highlighting the adverse effects of previous governments’ involvement in business, which he claimed led to economic damage and a depleted state treasury. He emphasized that under the Aam Aadmi Party’s governance, many talented Punjabis have returned from abroad to start new businesses, reversing the trend of businessmen leaving the state due to harassment for shares.

Mann provided examples of successful local enterprises, such as the Panjoy water park near Bathinda and the self-help group organization Pahal. He underscored the importance of industry and trade in driving the state’s progress and reducing unemployment.

Additionally, Mann announced plans to make Jalandhar the capital of the Majha and Doaba regions. He committed to spending two days each week in Jalandhar with officials to address local issues directly. To facilitate this, a house has been rented for the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Jalandhar to serve the local population.
