Bhoomipujan held in Dharampura and Birkona; projects aim to improve rural connectivity and basic infrastructure

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Dy CM and Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma performed the bhoomipujan for two concrete road-cum-drainage projects worth ₹78.51 lakh in Kabirdham district under the Mukhyamantri Gaurav Path Yojana. Construction began immediately after the ceremonies, which also saw participation from local women.

In Dharampura, a 0.5-km road from Manikchauri Main Road to the paddy procurement centre and cattle shelter will be built at a cost of ₹49.74 lakh. In Birkona, a 0.25-km road-cum-drainage project will be constructed for ₹28.77 lakh. Sharma directed officials and contractors to ensure quality construction.

He said the state government, under CM Vishnu Deo Sai, was prioritising rural infrastructure. He cited development works worth ₹1.24 crore in Dharampura and ₹1.03 crore in Birkona, besides the construction of hundreds of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the two villages.

He also highlighted plans to provide free online coaching and career counselling to students in the Kawardha Assembly constituency. Screens have been installed in 50 of the constituency’s 85 schools, with the remaining 35 to be covered. The facility is also planned for all eight hostels. Discussions have been held with Physics Wallah to provide online coaching, aiming to reduce the need for students to travel to other cities or pay for expensive coaching.

Takhatpur MLA Dharamjeet Singh praised Vijay Sharma’s development initiatives and his efforts towards making Chhattisgarh free of Naxalism under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Vishnu Deo Sai. He also welcomed women’s participation in the foundation ceremonies, stressing its importance in community development.

Former MLA Motiram Chandravanshi and district panchayat member Birendra Sahu also addressed the gathering.
