30,000 ‘Aashirwad Ke Diye’ to Be Lit in Every Assembly Constituency on Seva Diwas: Dr Archana Gupta

Gurugram: BJP Haryana president Dr Archana Gupta said that the state government and the BJP, in coordination with the people and in association with social, religious and educational institutions, would ensure the participation of every Haryana resident in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life based on service, good governance, sacrifice, dedication and an unblemished record. She said the campaign, beginning on September 17, would be launched as Seva Diwas with 30,000 ‘Aashirwad Ke Diye’ being lit in every Assembly constituency and would continue until October 17 through a series of around a dozen programmes.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP office Gurukamal on Saturday, Dr Archana Gupta said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan would not remain limited to BJP workers but would be turned into a mass campaign through the participation of every section of society and every Haryana resident. She expressed happiness that various organisations and prominent citizens had themselves approached the party to discuss organising programmes under the campaign, which, she said, reflected the trust of the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said beneficiaries of various government schemes and members of the public would light diyas at their homes, while large-scale programmes would be organised at historical and religious sites across the state. These would include one lakh diyas at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra and 50,000 diyas at Devi Temple in Panipat, besides programmes at the ancient Mata Sheetla Mata Temple in Gurugram, Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula and Rani Talab in Jind, among other places.

She said a blood donation camp would be inaugurated in Kurukshetra on September 17 in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, following which a major blood donation camp would be organised every day in a different district, with young people expected to participate in large numbers. Health check-up and cataract treatment camps would also be organised across Haryana during the campaign. With the participation of the government, social organisations, NGOs and BJP workers, the campaign would work towards the goal of making Haryana “cataract-free”. Similarly, large-scale plantation drives would be conducted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Referring to the proposed plantation of around 10,000 saplings at Namo Vatika in Manesar with the support of the Forest Department, the BJP state president said environmental protection was not merely the responsibility of the government but the duty of every citizen.

Dr Archana Gupta said drawing and speech competitions on the theme ‘Mere Sapnon Ka Bharat’ would be organised in schools. Beginning at the village level, the competitions would progress to the block, district and state levels, with the winning participants being felicitated. Career counselling sessions would also be organised for young people. Special programmes would be held across around 19,365 Anganwadi centres in Haryana, featuring entertaining competitions for children and nutrition-awareness sessions for their mothers. The contributions of Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers would also be recognised. Programmes would be conducted to raise awareness about organ donation, with people being informed about the importance of donating kidneys, liver, corneas and tissues and encouraged to pledge to donate their organs. As part of the campaign against drug abuse, parents would be sensitised to identify behavioural changes in their children at an early stage and guide them towards the right path.

The BJP state president said programmes would also be organised to honour soldiers who guard the country’s borders. Children would be connected with stories of the nation’s heroes so that a sense of pride in the nation and Indian culture could be strengthened among them. She said a ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ would be taken out in various districts of the state on October 7 to spread the message of service, good governance and development among the people. A programme would also be organised for the exchange of development initiatives and public welfare schemes between Haryana and Karnataka. Representatives of the two states would visit each other to observe development works and welfare programmes. The participation of social media influencers and people from other sections of society would also be ensured.

On the occasion, Swami Dharmdev and former Vice-Chancellor Dr Ashok Diwakar also appealed to the public to participate enthusiastically in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. BJP state general secretaries Satyaprakash Jarawata and Ved Phulla, BJP district president Sarvpriya Tyagi and other leaders were also present.
