New Delhi, August 20, 2026; Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a Jan Kaushal Kendra and a Swayam Swasthya Kendra in Moti Nagar, marking an effort to expand access to technology-based skill training and neighbourhood healthcare.

The two facilities have been set up with the support of the Madan Lal Khurana Foundation. Speaking at the inauguration, Gupta said young people need exposure to emerging technologies and industry-relevant capabilities as the nature of employment and entrepreneurship continues to change.

The Jan Kaushal Kendra will focus on Artificial Intelligence and digital skills, with the aim of helping residents acquire capabilities suited to emerging employment opportunities. The initiative is also attracting senior citizens interested in understanding new technologies, according to the Chief Minister.

Gupta said skill development must move beyond conventional education and enable people to adapt to a technology-driven economy. She also highlighted the national push to expand AI-related skills among young people and said Delhi is working towards contributing to that objective.

Alongside the skill centre, the newly opened Swayam Swasthya Kendra is designed to make basic diagnostic services more accessible to residents within their neighbourhood. The facility will provide a range of health investigations, including blood sugar, CBC, liver and kidney function tests, thyroid testing, cholesterol and lipid profiles.

Residents will also have access to cardiac and fever profiles, dental screening, ECG, blood pressure and oxygen-level checks. Test reports will be made available digitally, while telemedicine facilities will enable patients to consult doctors when necessary.

The Chief Minister said education, employable skills and healthcare are essential components of a stronger community and stressed the importance of ensuring that such facilities reach people at the local level.

Gupta also praised the Madan Lal Khurana Foundation for carrying forward the former Delhi Chief Minister’s emphasis on public service. She said its work in education, healthcare and support for vulnerable sections reflects the broader goal of building a stronger and more empowered Delhi.

MLA Harish Khurana, Umang Bajaj and other dignitaries attended the inauguration. The project has also received grassroots-level support from Trinity Foundation in areas including vocational training, health camps and women’s empowerment.
