New Delhi, August 12, 2026:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the autobiography of former President Ram Nath Kovind, titled ‘Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles’, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was present at the book launch and described the occasion as a significant moment.

Addressing the gathering, Birla said the autobiography presents the extraordinary journey of Kovind, marked by determination, struggle and achievement. He highlighted the former President’s early life and the challenges he faced in pursuing education, noting that his journey from a humble and economically disadvantaged background to the highest constitutional office of India remains an inspiration for generations.

The Lok Sabha Speaker said Kovind’s public life reflected a strong commitment to constitutional values. During his tenure as an advocate and later as a Member of Parliament, he remained dedicated to issues concerning Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, social justice and probity in public life.

Birla also recalled Kovind’s tenure as Governor, during which he contributed towards greater transparency, quality and technological innovation in higher education.

As President of India, Kovind upheld constitutional traditions and demonstrated a continued commitment to social harmony and inclusive development, Birla said. His visits to various countries also contributed to strengthening India’s diplomatic relations and expanding its international engagement.

The Lok Sabha Speaker particularly highlighted Kovind’s role during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said the former President helped instil courage, unity and confidence among citizens during the challenging period and took steps that made Rashtrapati Bhavan more accessible to the public.

Birla further noted that Kovind has continued to contribute to public life even after completing his tenure as President. Through his experience, reflections and continued engagement with issues concerning the Constitution and social justice, he continues to contribute to the nation and society.

He expressed confidence that ‘Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles’ would offer readers valuable insights into Kovind’s life and public journey while encouraging citizens, particularly younger generations, to participate meaningfully in public life.

The release of the autobiography brought together reflections on Kovind’s personal journey, constitutional responsibilities and decades of public service, highlighting the values of perseverance, social justice and commitment to democratic institutions.
