Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Calls Harare a Special Venue Ahead of Zimbabwe T20I Series

Teenage opener recalls India's U-19 World Cup triumph in Harare and hopes to carry winning momentum into the senior T20I series

Harare, July 22: Young Indian batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has described Harare as a place filled with special memories as he prepares for India’s three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The 15-year-old said returning to the same venue where India lifted the ICC Under-19 World Cup earlier this year makes the occasion even more meaningful.

Speaking ahead of the opening T20I, Sooryavanshi said representing India at the senior level on a ground where he previously celebrated a major international success is a dream come true. He added that the experience of winning the Under-19 World Cup in Harare remains one of the most memorable moments of his career.

The youngster said his earlier matches at the venue have helped him understand the playing conditions, and he plans to use that experience during the upcoming series. He expressed confidence in his preparation and said he intends to continue playing his natural game while contributing to the team’s success.

Sooryavanshi also praised the coaching staff for providing the necessary support and practice sessions ahead of the tour. Reflecting on the last few months, he acknowledged that cricket brings both highs and lows but stressed the importance of staying focused on the process and giving his best in every match.

India will begin the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in Harare on July 23, with the remaining matches scheduled for July 25 and July 26 at the same venue. The series begins shortly after India‘s tour of England.
