The Vikram-1 Launch marks a historic milestone for India’s private space sector as Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to Skyroot Aerospace ahead of the country’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle mission.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conveyed his best wishes to Skyroot Aerospace as the company prepared for the maiden launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle. Describing the mission as a defining moment for the country’s space sector, he said the launch reflects India’s rapid progress in science, technology and private enterprise.
The Vikram-1 mission is scheduled for liftoff at 11:30 AM and is expected to mark a significant chapter in India’s commercial space programme. Developed by Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace, the four-stage launch vehicle has been designed to provide flexible and on-demand satellite launch services.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said the mission showcases the creativity, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of India’s young innovators. He added that recent reforms in the country’s space sector have opened new opportunities for private companies to contribute to national growth and technological advancement.
Expressing confidence in the Skyroot Aerospace team, Modi wished the mission complete success and hoped that Vikram-1 would inspire a new generation of scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs while strengthening India’s position in the global space industry.
The Prime Minister also appealed to citizens, particularly students and young people, to watch the launch and participate in celebrating the achievement by extending their support to the mission through the social media campaign #IndiaWithVikram1.
