Addressing a gathering at an Ayush-related event, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, said the sector has evolved into a dynamic ecosystem that combines India’s traditional healthcare knowledge with modern scientific research and innovation. He noted that the rapid expansion of Ayush has opened new avenues for professionals, researchers, manufacturers and startups.
The Minister emphasized that increasing global acceptance of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy is creating fresh possibilities for Indian institutions and skilled professionals. He said the government’s focus remains on strengthening education, quality healthcare services, scientific validation and international outreach to make India a global leader in traditional medicine.
Highlighting the sector’s future potential, Jadhav encouraged students and young professionals to explore careers in Ayush, stating that the industry offers opportunities across healthcare delivery, pharmaceuticals, wellness tourism, digital health, research and innovation.
He also reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to building a robust Ayushecosystem through policy support, capacity building and greater integration of traditional systems of medicine into the country’s healthcare framework.
The Minister said continued investment in education, research and entrepreneurship will further accelerate the sector’s growth, enabling India to expand its leadership in holistic healthcare while generating employment and improving public health outcomes.
The Ayush Sector Opportunities are expected to grow further as demand for holistic healthcare and preventive medicine continues to increase worldwide. Government initiatives aimed at improving research, digital healthcare, quality standards and international collaborations are creating a favourable environment for innovation and investment. Experts believe these developments will strengthen India’s position as a global hub for traditional medicine while generating thousands of new employment opportunities.
