Faridabad, 24 June 2026: In a remarkable achievement in advanced urological surgery, doctors at ILSS Hospital, Faridabad successfully removed a nearly 400-gram enlarged prostate along with multiple bladder stones using laser technology, without making any cut on the patient’s body.
The patient travelled from Gurugram to Faridabad seeking treatment for severe urinary symptoms. He had consulted multiple hospitals before reaching ILSS Hospital. Because of the extremely large size of the prostate and the presence of multiple bladder stones, he was advised either open surgery or robotic surgery. However, the patient wanted to avoid any abdominal incision and was looking for a treatment option that would allow faster recovery with less pain.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Tanuj Paul Bhatia, Chairman – Urology, ILSS Hospital, using the hospital’s advanced 150-Watt Holmium Laser manufactured by Jena Surgical, Germany. During the same procedure, both the giant prostate and the bladder stones were successfully removed through the natural urinary passage. The surgery lasted about two hours, and the patient has recovered well.

According to Dr. Bhatia, modern laser technology has transformed the treatment of enlarged prostate. “Large prostates traditionally required major surgery through the abdomen. Today, with advanced laser technology and the right expertise, even prostates of this size can be treated without any external incision, resulting in less pain, reduced blood loss, quicker recovery, and shorter hospital stay.”
The 150-Watt Holmium Laser available at ILSS Hospital was the first such laser in North India and the second in India. It is also the only laser platform that offers a 140-Watt EPS setting, enabling faster and more efficient treatment of large prostates. ILSS Hospital is currently the only private hospital in India offering this advanced technology.
Commenting on the hospital’s experience, Dr. Sumit More, Director – Urology, ILSS Hospital, said, “In the last two and a half years since the inception of ILSS Hospital, we have successfully performed nearly 250 laser prostate surgeries. More than 100 patients had prostates larger than 100 grams, while many patients had prostates exceeding 200 grams. This experience allows us to confidently manage some of the most complex prostate cases in the country.”
Ms. Manisha Khurana, Director – Operations, ILSS Hospital, said that ILSS has increasingly become a referral center for patients with large prostates from across North India. “Patients travel long distances because of the advanced laser technology available at ILSS and the expertise of Dr. Tanuj Paul Bhatia. Besides being an experienced surgeon, Dr. Bhatia is also a teacher and trainer who regularly travels across India to train urologists in advanced laser prostate surgery.”
ILSS Hospital, Faridabad has emerged as one of India’s leading centers for laser urology and minimally invasive surgery. In the recently published Times Health Critical Care Survey 2026, ILSS was ranked No. 6 in India among single-specialty urology hospitals and No. 1 in North India and Delhi NCR.
The successful treatment of this challenging case once again highlights how modern laser technology is helping patients avoid major surgery and return to normal life faster and more comfortably.
