New Delhi : A grand Pipping Ceremony was organised today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, New Delhi, where retiring personnel of Delhi Police were conferred honorary ranks under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme. This marks the sixth such ceremony since the scheme was introduced in December 2025.
The ceremony was presided over by Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who, along with senior officers of Delhi Police, ceremonially conferred the next higher honorary ranks upon the retiring personnel, ranging from Constable to Sub-Inspector.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police, Delhi extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all members of the Delhi Police family, particularly the retiring personnel being honoured on the occasion. He remarked that the initiative, launched six months ago, has now evolved into a meaningful tradition and celebration within the force. He appreciated the efforts of Robin Hibu Special CP/HRD and the HRD team for successfully organising the initiative.
Highlighting the invaluable contribution of the retiring personnel, the CP Delhi stated that they had devoted 35 to 40 years of dedicated service to the institution, the city, and the nation. He observed that policing is not merely a profession but a way of life that transforms one’s outlook and sense of responsibility.

The CP Delhi urged the retiring personnel to continue upholding the dignity and values of the force even after retirement and to serve as role models in society through their experience and wisdom. He also acknowledged the sacrifices and unwavering support of their family members throughout their years of service.
Expressing gratitude for the commitment shown by Delhi Police personnel under all circumstances the CP Delhi assured the retirees that the Delhi Police family would always stand by them whenever required. He concluded by extending his best wishes for a happy and healthy post retirement life to all retiring personnel.

The personnel conferred with honorary ranks included: Head Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI): 11; Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Sub-Inspector: 30; Sub-Inspector to Inspector: 180.
Senior officers of Delhi Police, along with the retiring personnel and their family members, attended the ceremony, making it a memorable and dignified occasion.
