CM Rekha Gupta Inspects Indigenous Air Purification Technologies to Combat Pollution

New Delhi, May 23, 2026: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inspected a range of indigenous air pollution control technologies deployed across Delhi. The visit was part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve air quality and strengthen public health measures. Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and MLA Harish Khurana accompanied her during the inspection.

STR 101 Filterless Air Purifiers Installed

During the visit, officials assessed the performance of the STR 101 Filterless Air Purifier units installed along Sat Guru Ram Singh Marg. A total of 21 units have been deployed in the area as part of the city’s clean-air initiative.

According to officials, the self-cleaning purification system is capable of processing nearly three lakh litres of air every hour. The technology is designed to reduce smoke, dust, PM2.5, PM10, and other harmful pollutants without the need for conventional filters.

EV-Based Anti-Smog Technology Deployed

The Chief Minister also reviewed the operation of an electric vehicle-mounted anti-smog system that has been introduced in Kirti Nagar and Mayapuri. Described as a zero-emission mobile pollution-control solution, the system works by suppressing road dust and airborne particles while moving through congested urban areas.

Officials said the technology helps create cleaner air corridors, contributing to improved visibility and a healthier environment for residents.

PAWAN III Device Targets Vehicular Emissions

Another key technology showcased during the inspection was the PAWAN III Pollution Control Device, installed near the Kirti Nagar Fire Station. The system is designed to capture and treat pollution generated by vehicles at the source before it disperses into the atmosphere.

Field evaluations conducted during pilot operations indicated that the device achieved a reduction of nearly 29 percent in particulate pollution levels, officials said.

Focus on Sustainable Pollution Control

The Delhi government stated that the deployment of home-grown environmental technologies forms part of its broader strategy to combat pollution throughout the year. The administration aims to combine innovation, sustainability, and public health measures to improve air quality across the national capital.
