Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Declares Over ₹1 Crore Assets Ahead of Dharmadom Election Contest

Kannur, Mar 19, 2026: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has declared total assets worth over ₹1 crore in his nomination affidavit filed from the Dharmadom assembly constituency, ahead of the upcoming state elections.

According to the affidavit, the Chief Minister listed both movable and immovable properties, including bank deposits, shares, and residential assets, while also reporting agricultural land holdings in Kannur district.His declared movable assets include deposits in various financial institutions and investments in select companies, including stakes linked to Kannur International Airport Ltd.

The affidavit also stated that his wife holds movable assets valued at over ₹60 lakh, along with immovable property worth ₹36 lakh, including gold holdings.The Chief Minister confirmed that neither he nor his wife has any outstanding liabilities.

He also reported an annual income of ₹5.33 lakh for the financial year 2024–25, while his wife’s income stood at ₹5.77 lakh for the same period.The declaration comes as Kerala prepares for elections scheduled for April 9, adding political significance to the disclosure.

Vijayan also mentioned in the affidavit that he is facing multiple legal proceedings, including a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, which is currently pending before the Supreme Court.The SNC-Lavalin case and an Enforcement Directorate probe related to infrastructure fund usage were also referenced in the filing, both of which remain under judicial consideration.

The disclosure has drawn attention in political circles, as asset declarations of top leaders often become a key point of public and electoral scrutiny.
