PM Modi Bids Farewell to Retiring Rajya Sabha MPs Says Public Service Never Ends

Prime Minister highlights continued role of leaders beyond Parliament, stressing that experience and commitment remain vital in public life even after retirement from the Upper House

New Delhi, March 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday bid farewell to retiring members of the Rajya Sabha, underlining that there is “no full stop” in public life and that their experience will continue to benefit the nation.

Addressing the House, the Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of outgoing members and emphasised that public service extends beyond parliamentary tenure. He noted that their insights and guidance remain valuable in shaping the country’s future.

Modi highlighted the importance of experience in governance and policy-making, stating that leaders who have served in Parliament carry with them a wealth of knowledge that continues to inspire and guide younger generations.

The farewell comes as several members complete their term in the Upper House, marking the end of their current parliamentary responsibilities while opening avenues for continued engagement in public and political life.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflected a broader message on the continuity of service in a लोकतांत्रिक system, where leadership and commitment go beyond formal positions.
