Community Outreach, Awareness Drives and Cultural Programmes Mark Grand Finale of Police Week Celebrations

New Delhi | Feb 22, 2026The final day of Delhi Police Week 2026 was observed on Saturday under the theme सहयोग – “जन-पुलिस भागीदारी से सुरक्षित दिल्ली”, reaffirming the commitment of Delhi Police towards strengthening community partnership and citizen-centric policing to ensure a safer national capital.

To mark the occasion, special outreach programmes were organised at police station levels across Delhi. These initiatives focused on enhancing public awareness, encouraging active citizen participation, and promoting responsible community engagement.

Key activities conducted during the day included cyber awareness programmes to educate citizens on online safety and cybercrime prevention, anti-drugs awareness campaigns to sensitise youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse, and the “Nazuk” awareness programme aimed at educating children about Good Touch and Bad Touch and empowering them to report inappropriate behaviour without fear.

Jan Sunwai camps were also organised to facilitate direct interaction and grievance redressal between police officials and the public. Free health check-up camps for police personnel and citizens were held, along with awareness sessions on the Nyaya Sanhita, Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative, and traffic rules to promote road safety.

Musical Evening at Central Park

In the evening, a musical programme was organised at Central Park, Connaught Place, where renowned Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan enthralled the audience with his captivating performance.

The event was graced by Rachna Golchha, President of Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS), along with other office bearers. Senior Delhi Police officers present on the occasion included Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Special CP/Crime & PMMC;  Nupur Prasad, Joint CP/EOW; Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Addl. CP/EOW; and other senior officials.

Week-long Celebrations

Delhi Police Week 2026 was celebrated from February 16 to 22 with great enthusiasm. The week-long programme showcased the glorious history, achievements, modernisation initiatives, and people-centric policing approach of Delhi Police.

The celebrations were organised around seven daily themes — सेवा, सुरक्षा, समर्पण, साहस, संवेदना, सतर्कता, and सहयोग — reflecting the core values and evolving role of modern policing.

Special events held during the week included illumination of police buildings, band performances at prominent locations, a march past by the Delhi Police contingent recently declared best at the Republic Day Parade 2026, public outreach through Jansampark Vahan, Delhi Gully Olympics, podcasts on public awareness, a mega exhibition on police history and modernisation, and cultural programmes such as Kavi Sammelan.

The successful conclusion of Delhi Police Week 2026 reinforced the message that a safe Delhi can only be achieved through strong cooperation between the police and the public.
