Sonipat, January 22 – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said from the 8th to the 19th century, India suffered immense damage to its spiritual and cultural traditions due to repeated attacks by foreign invaders. He said the steps taken by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi during the ‘Amritkaal’ of Independence, with the resolve of “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat,” will ensure that India’s glorious history resounds across the world for the next 1,000 years. This, he said, will be achieved not only through political leadership but through active participation of society.
On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the idol consecration ceremony of Sh. Siddh Baba Mahant Budhnath Ji Maharaj and the Asht Maan Bhandara at Baba Nage Dham in Murthal, and enthroned Bal Yogi Masaan Ji Maharaj as Mahant. Addressing thousands of Nath sect yogis, peethadheeshwars, saints and devotees from across the country, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Sanatan Dharma is not merely a method of worship, but a comprehensive culture that guides life. India and Sanatan Dharma complement each other. A strong India will strengthen Sanatan Dharma, and the strength of Sanatan Dharma will pave the way for the welfare of global humanity.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated and extended his best wishes to Peethadheeshwar Mahant Baba Balak Nath Ji Maharaj and Shrimant Bal Yogi Masaan Nath Ji Maharaj for this divine event, stating that with unwavering faith in the guru tradition, they have realised this historic occasion in accordance with public sentiments. He said the event is not only a symbol of spiritual consciousness but also a powerful medium to connect society through values, service and harmony. He said the Nath Panth is one of India’s oldest spiritual traditions, which for centuries has inspired society through yoga, penance, service and discipline. Spread from north to south and east to west, the monasteries, temples, dhunas and peeths of the Nath Siddhas stand as living testimony to Sanatan Dharma. The Nath sect has shown society the path of unity and progress.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is witnessing the realisation of the vision of “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat.” The construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, the grand development of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the unprecedented participation of devotees in Prayagraj are proof of India’s cultural grandeur. He said that tasks once considered unimaginable have now become possible due to strong political leadership, the blessings of the saintly community and public participation.
He said that the participation of around 4.5 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya is a matter of astonishment for the world. It reflects India’s spiritual strength, the penance of saints and efficient administration. He said the coming thousand years will belong to India and will take Sanatan Dharma to its highest glory, for which every section of society must work together.
Calling upon the youth to build a drug-free society, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that intoxication leads to destruction and hollows out the younger generation. He said the enemies of the nation are failing in direct warfare and are therefore conspiring to trap youth in the web of drugs. He appealed to the saint community and citizens to launch a widespread mass awareness campaign against drugs. He also emphasised environmental protection, water conservation, and the rejuvenation of ponds and rivers, stating that maintaining the uninterrupted and pure flow of sacred rivers is everyone’s responsibility. Collective efforts are necessary for a plastic-free society and conservation of natural resources.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that for saints and yogis, nothing can be greater than dharma and the nation. Vigilance against any conspiracy to weaken Sanatan Dharma is the duty of every Indian. He said the vision of a developed India will be realised only when economic progress is accompanied by spiritual, cultural and social advancement.
Cooperation, Jails, Election, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that India’s cultural heritage is its strength, and on the basis of this strength, India is showing the world the path of peace and harmony. He said that in Haryana, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is continuously working for the preservation and promotion of religious and cultural traditions, so that devotees can connect with their deities with full devotion.

Welcoming the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Sh. Sh. 1008 Baba Gorakhnath Peethadheeshwar Mahant Yogi Adityanath, Cabinet Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that in the presence of Yogi Adityanath, who holds a unique position in the Nath sect and is transforming Uttar Pradesh into an excellent state through his administrative efficiency, Baba Masaan Nath has been enthroned as Mahant at Baba Nage Dham. He said this is a moment of pride for Sanatan faith, spiritual practice and cultural consciousness. He said such spiritual events are a powerful medium to unite society and enrich our values. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is giving a clear message to the world that faith, culture and development complement each other. Such events strengthen social harmony and bind society in the thread of faith and service, causing walls of discrimination to dissolve on their own.
On this occasion, BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli said that the grand arrival of Uttar Pradesh’s popular Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has filled the entire region with spiritual energy. Welcoming all revered saints, yogis and devotees, he said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit is a matter of good fortune for the people of Haryana, as he is not only the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh but also a great saint-leader of the Nath sect guiding the entire nation.
Tijara MLA Baba Balaknath from Rajasthan said that the Nath sect’s tradition conveys the message of uniting society through yoga, penance, service and harmony. The blessings of saints are the greatest strength for nation-building. He appealed to the saintly community and the public to unite and move forward to realise the vision of a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the end of the programme, prayers were offered for the welfare of the nation, dharma and humanity along with the bhandara and blessings of saints.
Rai MLA Krishna Gahlawat said that visiting the sacred land of Nage Dham has given her a deep sense of spiritual peace and positive energy. She said this event is not merely a religious programme, but a celebration of Sanatan traditions, the guru–disciple tradition and saintly ideals that guide society. She said the Nath sect has always shown the path of yoga, penance, service and harmony, and the tradition of Guru Gorakhnath Ji continues to convey the message of public welfare, discipline and inner strength.
