Noida, UP: A 27-year-old man, Yuvraj, a resident of Sector-150, Noida, lost his life after his car fell into an open drain at the Sector-150 intersection, triggering serious questions over safety and infrastructure in the area. Responding to the incident, Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of Noida Authority, Satish Pal, said that the Authority has initiated an investigation and assured that action will be taken once the probe is completed. “The inquiry will establish whose land it was, to whom it was allotted, and who was responsible for its upkeep. The road where the incident occurred is part of a sector that is not yet fully developed,” he said. When asked about the absence of warning signboards or safety barricades near the drain, the ACEO clarified that the site falls in a non-residential zone. He added that the Authority would soon undertake necessary safety and development work to prevent recurrence of such incidents. Visuals from the spot at the Sector-150 intersection show the open drain where the car broke through a boundary wall before plunging in. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over safety arrangements and incomplete infrastructure in Noida’s developing sectors.
