Manoj Bajpayee Slams Bollywood’s Insecurity Culture

The veteran actor says Bollywood stars avoid praising each other’s work due to deep-rooted insecurity.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee has once again sparked discussion in the film industry after candidly calling out the growing insecurity among Bollywood actors. In a recent interaction, the acclaimed performer stated that many actors in the Hindi film industry refrain from openly appreciating or supporting each other’s work, primarily due to professional jealousy and fear of comparison.

Bajpayee, known for his honesty and refusal to conform to industry norms, remarked that Bollywood lacks a culture of mutual respect and acknowledgment, adding that actors often view praise for others as diminishing their own standing. According to him, this tendency prevents healthy competition and discourages genuine artistic collaboration.

He noted that while industries in the South celebrate each other’s achievements more wholeheartedly, the Hindi film industry remains cautious and guarded. “They will never praise each other’s work,” Bajpayee said, highlighting how insecurity and image-consciousness overshadow talent and camaraderie.

Fans appreciated his bold statement, with many agreeing that the actor has consistently spoken about issues others shy away from. Social media users also praised Bajpayee for setting an example by frequently acknowledging and applauding strong performances across industries.

The actor, known for films like Satya, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Aligarh, continues to promote authenticity and humility in an industry often criticised for ego clashes, camps, and competition-driven behaviour.
