Industry Veteran Brings Decades of Experience and a Vision for Sustainability to Lead India’s Energy Giant

New Delhi, 13 November 2024: In a significant development for India’s energy sector, Mr. Arvinder Singh Sahney has assumed the role of Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IndianOil), bringing nearly 30 years of experience to the position. A Chemical Engineer from HBTI, Kanpur, Mr. Sahney began his journey with IndianOil in 1993 and has since held prominent roles across Refinery Operations, Technical Services, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), and Petrochemicals. His notable achievements include the commissioning of the 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery, which strengthened India’s refining capacity and energy security. Before stepping into the Chairman’s role, he led IndianOil’s Petrochemical vertical, spearheading key initiatives such as the upcoming mega Petrochemical Complex at Paradip, expected to expand IndianOil’s industry influence. Known for his commitment to a people-centric work culture, Mr. Sahney aims to reinforce IndianOil’s core business while driving green energy initiatives in line with global sustainability trends. Additionally, he chairs Terra Clean Limited, IndianOil’s Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WoS) dedicated to sustainable solutions, and serves as a Director at IndOil Montney Ltd., Canada, IndianOil’s WoS.
