FARIDABAD July 13 2024 : On Saturday, the Industrial Welfare Association (IWA) in Sector 70, Faridabad, conducted a tree plantation drive, planting approximately 100 trees as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. This event marks the association’s fourth such effort and is part of their ongoing commitment to environmental conservation over the past five years.
Key Highlights:
- Environmental Awareness: The initiative aims to increase environmental awareness and promote tree planting to purify the air, reduce heat, and provide habitats for wildlife.
- IWA’s Commitment: The IWA’s dedication to this cause is evident through their consistent efforts in organizing tree planting events. The association’s area, home to around 100 industrial units, is now significantly greener due to these initiatives.
Event Details:
- Presence of Dignitaries: The event saw the participation of Vipin Tandon, President of the Association; D.P. Sangle, Chief Secretary; V.D. Sharma, Treasurer; and other esteemed members, including Prem Batra, Chandra Prakash, and Anshul Garg.
- Leadership: The campaign was successfully led by the Vice President of the Association, R.C. Chaudhary, who expressed gratitude for the collective efforts of all members.
Challenges:
- Garbage Depot Issue: Despite the greenery, the presence of a Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) garbage depot in the middle of the industrial and residential areas poses a significant challenge. The depot causes foul smells and litter on the roads, affecting the area’s aesthetic and cleanliness.
- Impact on Exports: Some units in the area engage in exports, and international customers, particularly from Europe, have negatively commented on the scattered garbage. This issue has prompted the IWA to urge the MCF to address and resolve the garbage depot problem promptly.
The IWA’s tree plantation drive underlines the importance of environmental conservation and the need for collective efforts to enhance urban green spaces. The association remains committed to its mission while seeking solutions to local challenges affecting the community.
