Rahul Gandhi has called for swift compensation for the victims of the Hathras stampede

Hathras, July 5 – Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Friday called for immediate compensation for the victims of the Hathras stampede, which tragically claimed over 100 lives. During his visit, Gandhi highlighted administrative lapses but refrained from politicizing the issue.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with the victims’ families, Gandhi expressed deep sorrow over the loss and urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to expedite the compensation process. “It is crucial that the compensation reaches the families without delay,” Gandhi stated.

He emphasized the urgency of providing financial assistance, noting that most of the victims were from poor backgrounds. “Compensation should be given as soon as possible to benefit the affected families,” he added.

The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the cause and address any administrative failures. Gandhi’s call for swift action aims to ensure that the affected families receive timely support during this difficult period.
