Bhubaneswar, August 5, 2024: Odisha Vigilance officials have uncovered a significant amount of property and assets linked to P.K. Rath, Additional Chief Engineer at the Odisha Bridge and Construction Corporation (OBCC). The raids, conducted on Monday, followed allegations of disproportionate asset acquisition by Rath, who is stationed at the Chief Construction Engineer, R & B Cuttack Circle.
A team comprising nine Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), eleven Inspectors, and other personnel executed search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The raids spanned twelve locations across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Khordha.
During the operation, officials discovered a triple-storey residential building in Satya Vihar, Bhubaneswar; another similar building in Bhadrak; a flat at Oyster Apartment, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar; and a flat at Patrapada, Bhubaneswar. They also found a crusher unit in Dhenkanal and a medicine store-cum-residence in Indradhanu Market, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, all registered in Rath’s and his family’s names.
Additionally, the vigilance team identified 42 plots in upscale areas including Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, and Jajpur, with a substantial portion located in Jajpur. Among the seized assets were deposits amounting to ₹88 lakh, a four-wheeler, two JCBs, and an excavator.The total registered sale deed value of the assets exceeds ₹1.05 crore, though the actual value is expected to be higher, pending further verification.
