Chandigarh, July 17 2024 : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini felicitated 113 successful candidates of the Haryana Civil Services (HCS)-2023 batch in a ceremony held today. In his address, CM Saini emphasized the importance of public service, urging the new officers to diligently and honestly perform their duties to simplify the lives of citizens.
Saini directed the Chief Secretary to ensure that all selected candidates commence their duties immediately. Highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency, he noted that Haryana has provided government jobs based on merit without any favoritism over the past decade, reflecting the transparency seen in job recruitment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Previously, HCS positions were often secured by relatives of influential individuals. However, our merit-based approach has allowed children from poor families to become officers without any ‘Parchi Kharchi’,” Saini stated. He stressed the government’s dedication to rewarding diligent youth and ensuring they enter public service to contribute to society.
The Chief Minister praised former Chief Minister and current Union Minister Manohar Lal for his role in establishing a transparent system. Saini shared his personal journey, highlighting that despite coming from a humble background with no political lineage, he rose to the position of Chief Minister, showcasing the inclusivity of the current system.
Saini also underscored the government’s focus on reaching the last mile citizen with the benefits of government schemes. He mentioned initiatives like ‘Samadhan Shivir’, daily problem-solving camps held in districts, where Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and other district officers ensure on-the-spot resolution of citizens’ issues.
Chief Secretary T.V.S.N Prasad, addressing the newly inducted officers, emphasized the importance of honesty and ethics in public service. He encouraged the officers to stay committed to these values throughout their careers, particularly in addressing the problems faced by the poor.
