Citizens utilize cVigil app to report 2246 violations of election code of conduct: DEO Vikram Singh

-More than 75 percent of these complaints have been resolved.

Faridabad, 17 May, 2024 : DEO and DC Vikram Singh, while discussing the progress report of the cVigil App on the online platform for better implementation of the Lok Sabha elections as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, stated that a software named cVigil was launched by the Election Commission. This app allows voters to lodge complaints related to election implementation by uploading photos directly to the platform. The complaints uploaded by the administration on the cVigil app are being promptly addressed by the FST-SST team monitoring them. DEO Vikram Singh further explained that the cVigil App connects citizens with the District Control Room, Returning Officers, and flying squads as per the Election Commission of India’s guidelines. For the General Lok Sabha Elections-2024, this app enables citizens to report incidents related to political propaganda immediately without needing to visit the office of the Returning Officer in person. He also mentioned that the complaints on the cVigil app include violations of the model code of conduct and complaints from political parties. Since the announcement of the General Lok Sabha Elections-2024, 2246 complaints have been received on the cVigil App for violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in the Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency. More than 75 percent of these complaints have been resolved. Vikram Singh highlighted that most complaints uploaded on the cVigil app were resolved within 100 minutes.

Complaints on cVigil App from Faridabad’s 6 Assembly Constituencies:

DEO Vikram Singh reported that out of the complaints uploaded on the cVigil app from Faridabad’s six assembly constituencies, 369 were from Badkhal, with 88% resolved accurately. Ballabhgarh had the most complaints at 1106, followed by Faridabad with 256, Faridabad NIT with 136, Prithla with 343, and Tigaon with 36. Most complaints were resolved promptly and updated on the online platform within the time limit.
