Union Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated India MedTech Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam

- Focus on domestic manufacturing, innovation, and global competitiveness in medical devices sector

New Delhi: India MedTech Expo 2025 was inaugurated on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. The Medical Devices Park Exhibition at Hall No. 14 was inaugurated by Amit Agarwal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. On the opening day, a CEO Roundtable Meeting was chaired by Amit Agarwal, attended by senior officials and industry leaders, including Ravindra Pratap Singh (Joint Secretary, Pharma, Govt. of India), R.S. Kanwar (Chairman, EPC for Medical Devices), Rakesh Kumar Singh (Vice Chairman, EPC and CEO, Yamuna Expressway Authority), Praveen Mittal (Executive Director, MDP), Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi (Drug Controller General of India, CDSCO), Jaljeet Bhattacharya (Chairman, Centre for Digital Economy Policy Research), Jitendra Sharma, Rajiv Nath, Himanshu Baid (Chairman, Poly Medicure), Prashant Krishnan (CEO, TI Medical), Shailendra Bhatia (OSD, Yamuna Expressway Authority), and senior officials from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Visakhapatnam, along with executives from major medical device manufacturing companies.

The roundtable discussions focused on promoting domestic manufacturing, enhancing quality standards, boosting trade and market access, strengthening supply chains, and encouraging innovation and R&D. Industry stakeholders shared suggestions to position India’s medical devices sector more effectively on the global stage. Meanwhile, Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Yamuna Expressway Authority, inaugurated the authority’s stall at Hall No. 14. The stall showcased progress on Medical Devices Park (Sector 28), Semiconductor Park, Industrial Development projects, International Film City, and Noida International Airport. It attracted visitors from India and abroad, with officials providing detailed information. Several investors appreciated the Yamuna Authority’s initiatives and expressed interest in setting up industries in the region under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Key officials present at the stall included Ashok Kumar Singh, Smita Singh, Nandkishor Sundariyal, Salim, Vandana Raghav, Rahul, Shubham, Akshay Mehrotra, Ratandeep, and Abhimanyu, along with other authority representatives.
