VD Satheesan Net Worth: How Wealthy is Kerala’s New CM? Details of Assets, Gold, Cash and Loans Revealed

After the Congress-led alliance secured a major victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, senior Congress leader V. D. Satheesan has officially been chosen as the new Chief Minister of the state. While political discussions continue around the new government, public curiosity has also shifted towards Satheesan’s personal wealth, assets, and liabilities declared in his election affidavit.

According to details submitted during the 2026 Assembly elections, VD Satheesan and his wife Lakshmipriya together own assets valued at nearly ₹6.69 crore. The declaration includes movable wealth, land holdings, residential properties, jewellery, investments, and outstanding loans.

As per the affidavit, Satheesan has declared movable assets estimated at around ₹53.82 lakh. These include cash in hand, deposits, investments and gold holdings.

The Congress veteran reportedly has around ₹64,000 cash in hand. He also mentioned ownership of bank shares and nearly 35 grams of gold in his declaration papers.

The affidavit further reveals that Satheesan owns immovable properties worth approximately ₹2.42 crore. These properties include inherited as well as self-acquired land and residential assets located in areas such as Paravur and Nettur in Kerala.

His property portfolio forms a significant portion of the family’s total declared net worth.

Satheesan’s wife Lakshmipriya has declared movable assets valued at nearly ₹68.45 lakh. Her holdings reportedly include cash reserves, bank savings, shares and substantial gold ownership.

According to the election affidavit, she possesses nearly 1,128 grams of gold jewellery. In addition, she also owns inherited land estimated to be worth around ₹1.85 crore.

The family affidavit also mentions a vehicle worth approximately ₹9.61 lakh registered in the name of their daughter.

Despite significant assets, the affidavit shows that the family also carries financial liabilities. VD Satheesan reportedly has pending loans worth around ₹24 lakh, including housing and vehicle-related borrowings.

Meanwhile, his wife Lakshmipriya has liabilities amounting to nearly ₹17.45 lakh.

The financial disclosures have now become a major talking point after Satheesan’s elevation as Kerala’s Chief Minister, with many people closely examining the declared assets of the Congress leader and his family.
