Mathura, March 21, 2026: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday visited the sacred town of Govardhan in Mathura district, where she offered prayers at the revered Danghati Temple as part of her ongoing spiritual tour of Uttar Pradesh.

The President also participated in the traditional Govardhan Parikrama, a 21-kilometre circumambulation considered highly significant in the Braj region’s religious traditions.
Her visit formed part of a three-day itinerary covering Ayodhya, Mathura, and Vrindavan, during which she has been offering prayers at several major temples and interacting with spiritual leaders.
Officials said the President’s visit to Danghati Temple was conducted under tight security arrangements, with devotees gathering along the route to witness her arrival.The Govardhan Parikrama route includes several sacred sites associated with Lord Krishna, making it one of the most important pilgrimage circuits in the region.
