Government says that it has trained one crore 48 lakh candidates under the PMKVY

The government has reported that one crore 48 lakh candidates have been trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) to date. Launched in 2015, the scheme aims to provide skill development training to youth across the country.

During the question hour in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary noted that this training has facilitated employment opportunities for many participants.

Chaudhary highlighted that among the various trades offered under PMKVY 4.0, Electronics and Hardware, Apparel, Agriculture, and Logistics are particularly popular among the youth. He emphasized the scheme’s impact on enhancing the employability of trained individuals and contributing to their professional growth.
