The nation is paying tribute today to distinguished poet, renowned writer, great philosopher, social reformer, and educationist Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his death anniversary.
Home Minister Amit Shah, in a social media post, recalled the Nobel laureate and composer of India’s National Anthem, highlighting how Gurudev inspired society with his creations, promoting self-culture, tradition, and awareness of India. Shah emphasized that Tagore invigorated the freedom movement by instilling a sense of self-respect among the people and introduced Indian philosophy to the world through the establishment of Visva Bharati University. Shah affirmed that Gurudev’s thoughts will continue to illuminate the world for eternity.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi also paid tribute to the distinguished poet. Tagore is celebrated for his profound contributions to literature, music, and art, and his role in India’s freedom movement.
