Jaipur, 27 June, 2024: Today, under the chairmanship of Shri Amitabh, General Manager, North Western Railway, the 65th meeting of the Regional Official Language Implementation Committee, Jaipur was organized at the Principal Office, Jaipur. The meeting reviewed the progress report of Hindi for the quarter ending March 2024.
According to Captain Shashikaran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, during the meeting, Shri Amitabh, General Manager, awarded a certificate of commendation to Shri Siddharth Bhanavat, Senior Electrical Engineer, Regional Rail Training Institute, Udaipur, for winning the Inspiration Award in the All India level Hindi Comment and Format Writing Competition. During the meeting, the General Manager also instructed the formation of a clerical staff in various offices including the Head Office, workshops, and units to monitor language-related tasks to promote Hindi activities.
Suggestions were received from department heads during the meeting to implement various software used in railways in bilingual mode. Additionally, the General Manager also launched the 27th issue of the quarterly e-magazine ‘Marudhra’ published by the headquarters during the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Geetika Pandey, Chief Language Officer, welcomed the General Manager, department heads, and officials from divisions/workshops/units, emphasizing that the national pride of using the official language is important. She stressed the need to use Hindi with pride in government work, which is our administrative and constitutional responsibility. She urged for the dedicated implementation of this responsibility.
The Language Officer discussed the agenda of the meeting. During the discussion, there was an appeal to use Hindi in accordance with the targets set by the Railway Board.
