Ch. Ramoji Rao, the founder of the Eenadu Group and a prominent figure in the media industry, passed away this morning in Hyderabad at the age of 87.

Mr. Rao had been admitted to a private hospital at Nanakramguda in the city on the 5th of this month due to health issues and succumbed to his illness early this morning in the hospital. He had been battling chronic illness and health complications for some time.

Preparations are underway to keep the mortal remains at his residence in Ramoji Film City, where family, friends, and well-wishers will pay their last respects to the departed soul.

Ramoji Rao was renowned for managing numerous businesses, including the Eenadu Group, Ramoji Film City, Margadarsi Chit Funds, and Priya Foods. Under his leadership, Eenadu became a major media force in Telugu-speaking areas and a significant political influencer.

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her grief over the passing of the prominent figure in Media and Founder of Eenadu Group, Ramoji Rao. In a social media post, she stated that with Mr. Rao’s demise, India has lost a titan of the media and entertainment sector.

An innovative entrepreneur, President Murmu highlighted that Mr. Rao pioneered several ventures, including the Eenadu newspaper, ETV news network, and Ramoji Film City. She noted that honored with Padma Vibhushan, Mr. Rao succeeded as his vision was deeply rooted in society.
