Amit Shah Greets Assam Rifles Personnel on Raising Day

Amit Shah honours courage dedication and sacrifice of India’s oldest paramilitary force

New Delhi, March 24 — Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the personnel of the Assam Rifles and their families on the occasion of the force’s Raising Day, applauding their unwavering commitment to national security.

Highlighting their crucial role, the minister noted that the force continues to safeguard India’s northeastern frontiers despite difficult terrain and demanding conditions. He emphasized that their dedication reflects a deep sense of patriotism and bravery that strengthens the nation’s security framework.

Apart from their operational responsibilities, the Assam Rifles have also played a vital role in building strong bonds with local communities. Through relief efforts and humanitarian initiatives, the force has helped foster trust and stability across the region.

The minister also paid tribute to the personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging their supreme sacrifice and reaffirming the nation’s gratitude towards their service.
