Faridabad: Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel addressed students as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony organised by the Maharaja Agrasen Education Trust, stating that women’s education is the greatest strength of a new and empowered India. He said the convocation was not merely a celebration of academic achievement but the beginning of a new phase of responsibility, leadership and nation-building.

Congratulating the students, He said the degree they received reflects years of hard work, the sacrifices of parents and the guidance of teachers, and will serve as a foundation for their future as well as for contributing to national development. Referring to the ideals of Maharaja Agrasen, he said the principle of “One Rupee, One Brick” symbolises social harmony, equality and cooperation, values that are also reflected in present policies aimed at inclusive development.

Emphasising the importance of women’s education, he said an educated woman strengthens not only her own life but also her family, society and the nation, adding that Indian women are setting new benchmarks in fields such as science, technology, defence services, administration and entrepreneurship. Citing data, he noted that the number of women in higher education has increased from about 1.57 crore in 2014-15 to more than 2.07 crore today, showing nearly 32 per cent growth, while women’s participation in STEM fields has reached around 43 per cent and girls’ enrolment in schools continues to rise with a decline in dropout rates.
He added that today’s India offers greater opportunities through the digital revolution, startup culture and the new education policy, while describing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as a historic step ensuring 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.

Urging the students to use their knowledge and skills for the progress of society and the nation, he called on them to follow the guiding principle of “Nation First, Party Next, Self Last” in building a strong and developed India. He also emphasised the importance of maintaining a balance between success and values, advising students to remain connected to their roots and social responsibilities wherever they go.
