Chennai, Mar 27,2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad lauded his team’s near-perfect performance in their comprehensive 63-run win against Gujarat Titans (GT), securing their second consecutive victory in the IPL.
After being handed the captaincy by M S Dhoni, Gaikwad led CSK to a commanding victory, propelling them to the top of the table.
Reflecting on the match, Gaikwad emphasized the team’s excellence across all departments, terming it a “near to perfect game.”
Batting first, CSK posted a formidable total of 206/6, with a brisk start and a swashbuckling knock from Shivam Dube. In response, GT struggled to 143/8, failing to counter CSK’s medium pacers Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, and Mustafizur Rahman.
Gaikwad praised the team’s batting, bowling, and fielding efforts, highlighting the crucial contributions from Rachin Ravindra, Ajinkya Rahane, and Dube.
Speaking on Dube’s phenomenal batting, Gaikwad credited his confidence and the personal attention given by the management and Dhoni.
Regarding GT’s performance, skipper Shubman Gill acknowledged CSK’s dominance in both batting and bowling, admitting his team’s failure to capitalize on the powerplay.
