Delhi Police Organizes Workshop on Drug Trafficking Awareness for Aero City Hotels

NEW DELHI, 29 MAY: To fulfill the vision of a drug-free nation, the Government of India is vigorously pursuing a policy of ‘Zero Tolerance’ against drugs. The resolve to root out the menace of drugs has been strongly conveyed, emphasizing stringent action against all drug traffickers to eradicate this evil from our country. The campaign against drugs is being sincerely implemented by Delhi Police through various operations and initiatives conducted by districts and units. To eradicate the drug menace from society, all concerned have been directed to take strong and effective action against narco-offenders.
INTRODUCTION
A focused training session-cum-workshop was conducted today by Delhi Police at Aero City, Delhi, addressing the pressing issue of drug trafficking in the area. The workshop brought together Chief Security Officers (CSOs) from all 11 major hotels in Aero City.

NOTE ON THE SESSION
The session was conducted by faculty members including Insp Rakesh Duhan, from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch. The CSOs were comprehensively briefed on the current drug scenario in Delhi, types of narcotics commonly abused, and the major source states contributing to the supply of contraband substances. The training also covered the adverse physical and mental health impacts of drug use.
An important highlight of the workshop was the introduction and demonstration of the MANAS portal (1933)—a confidential platform for reporting drug-related information. Officers were informed about the portal’s features, particularly its strong emphasis on maintaining the anonymity and security of informers.
The initiative was well-received, with participating CSOs particularly by Sh. Abhirup Banerji, (Rtd. ACP) Consultant Security, from Delhi International Airport Ltd expressing their appreciation for the proactive efforts of Delhi Police in addressing the drug menace in Aero City. The collaboration between law enforcement and private security is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing vigilance and ensuring a drug-free environment in one of Delhi’s key hospitality and commercial hubs.
