The Impressive TimesHathras , 7 July 2024 :- Devprakash Madhukar, a key suspect in the Hathras stampede case, was apprehended from Najafgarh, Delhi, along with two others, Ram Prakash Shakya and Sanju Yadav, who were arrested later. Madhukar is accused of orchestrating the event without adhering to required protocols and collecting funds for the satsang where the tragic incident unfolded, claiming 121 lives.
During police investigations, it was revealed that Madhukar had longstanding ties with the organization behind the satsang and played a significant role in mobilizing support for Suraj Pal, known as Bhole Baba. Authorities are scrutinizing Madhukar’s financial dealings and tracing possible links with political entities, suggesting potential involvement of a political party for personal and political advantages.
The superintendent of police in Hathras, Nipun Agarwal, disclosed these details during a press conference, noting that Madhukar had communicated with various political groups. Madhukar was presented before a magistrate in Hathras and remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody.
