16-Year-Old Student Drops Dead On School Corridor In Rajasthan; Here’s What The Doctors Are Saying

Jaipur, 6 July 2024 :– In a tragic event in Bandikui, Rajasthan’s Dausa district, a tenth-grade student named Yatendra, aged 16, passed away from heart failure at school on Saturday. Yatendra collapsed in the corridor before entering his classroom early in the morning. Despite the school administration’s prompt response to take him to a nearby hospital, he died during treatment.

Circle Inspector Premchand reported that Yatendra, the son of Bhupendra Upadhyay, was a student at a private school on Panditpura Road. The attending doctors confirmed that Yatendra had a congenital heart defect for which he had been receiving treatment. His sudden collapse and subsequent death were attributed to heart failure.

Yatendra’s family chose not to conduct a post-mortem, considering his medical history and the doctors’ statements. Consequently, the police have not filed any case. The family has traveled to their ancestral village in Narwas, Alwar, for the last rites.

Yatendra had just celebrated his 16th birthday on Friday, distributing toffees to classmates and having a family celebration with cake and photographs. His father, Bhupendra Upadhyay, expressed his sorrow, noting the stark contrast between the joy of the previous day and the sorrow of the current tragedy.

SHO Prem Chand and Dr. Pawan Jarwal, who attended Yatendra at the hospital, confirmed that CPR was performed but to no avail, and his heart had already stopped by the time he arrived. The family’s decision to forgo a post-mortem has been respected, and they are now focused on their traditional mourning practices.
