"Minister Laxmi Rajwade Steers Overhaul of Women and Child Development Policies at Mahanadi Bhavan"

Raipur, July 2 2024 : Today, Minister for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, conducted a comprehensive review of departmental activities at Mahanadi Bhavan. During the session, Mrs. Rajwade urged officials to conduct regular and surprise inspections of all Anganwadi centers to ensure adherence to quality standards in nutritional food and other facilities provided to beneficiaries.

Accompanied by departmental leaders including Secretary Mrs. Shammi Abidi and Director Ms. Tulika Prajapati, Minister Rajwade emphasized the crucial role of effective implementation of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) on the ground. She underscored the need for systematic delivery of government welfare schemes to women in the region, stressing initiatives to enhance public awareness and improve service quality.

The Minister highlighted key schemes such as Mahatari Vandan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Ready-to-Eat, Noni Suraksha Yojana, Shuchita Yojana, and Bal Sandarbh Yojana, directing officials to ensure these benefits reach all eligible beneficiaries. Mrs. Rajwade also mandated the linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar cards for Mahatari Vandan Yojana recipients and emphasized regular health check-ups and vaccinations for pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, and adolescent girls.

Furthermore, Minister Rajwade addressed transparency concerns in the implementation of Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, directing officials to verify applications thoroughly to identify genuine beneficiaries. She also instructed the preparation of a bi-weekly roster for admission of malnourished children into Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers to ensure timely and adequate support.

Discussions during the meeting also encompassed initiatives under Mission Vatsalya, education for children in child care institutions, recruitment for vacant positions in Anganwadi centers, and progress updates on construction projects.
