Lucknow, July 2 2024 : Bahoran Lal Maurya, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the upcoming Legislative Council by-election, officially submitted his nomination papers today in a ceremony attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several senior BJP leaders. The filing marks the conclusion of the nomination period for the Legislative Council seat.
Maurya’s candidacy was endorsed by the BJP on Monday, positioning him as the party’s choice for the legislative seat, which carries a term extending until July 2028. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed optimism about Maurya’s prospects, affirming his confidence in securing victory and effectively representing the interests of the electorate.
Accompanying CM Yogi at the nomination event were key BJP figures, including state president Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, and ministers Suresh Khanna, Swatantra Dev Singh, JPS Rathore, Kapil Dev Aggarwal, and Baldev Singh Aulakh.
The by-election for the Legislative Council seat has garnered significant attention as political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the voting day. The outcome will not only determine representation in the Council but also influence legislative dynamics in Uttar Pradesh.
