LPG Shortage Hits Hotels and Restaurants in Himachal, Says CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu

Shimla, Mar 19, 2026:  Himachal Pradesh  Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has acknowledged a mild shortage of commercial LPG cylinders affecting hotels and restaurants across parts of the state, noting that the situation is being monitored closely by the administration.

The Chief Minister stated that the shortage has been reported in the hospitality sector, which relies heavily on steady LPG supply for daily operations.He added that the government is in continuous coordination with supply agencies to ensure smoother distribution and prevent disruption in essential services.

Officials have been directed to assess demand patterns and address logistical bottlenecks contributing to the temporary supply gap. The administration has assured stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry that corrective steps are being taken on priority.

The issue comes at a time when Himachal Pradesh’s tourism sector is witnessing steady activity, increasing reliance on uninterrupted fuel supply chains.
