The holistic development of society brings to mind Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya Principle, which emphasizes uplifting the last person in the social hierarchy. On the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Ji, this philosophy resonates even more. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi often highlights Antyodaya’s role in achieving a developed India. Inspired by this vision, Haryana has launched the Lado Lakshmi Scheme, under which Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini aims to chart a new course for women’s empowerment.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has always adhered to Antyodaya, striving to extend development to those marginalized from society’s mainstream. The Lado Lakshmi Scheme is a concrete step to empower women who have historically been denied equality. The Prime Minister’s efforts, including the Women’s Reservation Bill, have further strengthened women’s political representation, proving that a nation cannot progress without the full participation of half its population.
Over the past decade, government policies have strengthened small-scale industries and promoted economic empowerment for women. Following this approach, CM Nayab Singh Saini is working to make women stronger economically, socially, and politically.
Under the Lado Lakshmi Scheme, eligible women will receive ₹2,100 monthly, reflecting Antyodaya’s principle of reaching the last person and ensuring a dignified life. Around 20 lakh women in Haryana are expected to benefit from this initiative. Economic empowerment of women not only strengthens families and communities but also improves child nutrition, education, and health, as women tend to invest their income in family development.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya is not just a concept—it is a way of life, reviving India’s ancient philosophy of collective welfare. In today’s complex world, Antyodaya remains highly relevant. Schemes like Lado Lakshmi are a true tribute to his vision, ensuring that development and dignity reach every citizen.
