Kriti Sanon Urges Bold Investments in Women’s Health at World Health Summit 2025

Berlin, 15 October 2025 – Actor and UNFPA India Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, Kriti Sanon, delivered a powerful keynote address at the World Health Summit (WHS) in Berlin, becoming the first Indian celebrity to speak at the prestigious global event. Her address, titled “Women’s Health – Global Wealth: Catalyzing Returns on Bold Investments,” highlighted the urgent need for prioritizing women’s health as a critical driver of social equality, economic growth, and innovation.

In her address, Kriti drew attention to the persistent health disparities faced by women worldwide. She emphasized that women are 50% more likely than men to be misdiagnosed after a heart attack and 40% more likely to suffer serious injuries in car crashes because safety technologies and crash-test dummies have historically been designed based on male physiology. She stressed that women’s health remains chronically underfunded, despite women constituting half of the global population.

Kriti cited the economic imperative of investing in women’s health, stating that for every $300 million invested, the potential return reaches $13 billion—demonstrating that every dollar yields at least nine dollars in economic gains. She called for inclusive approaches to healthcare, medicines, and safety technologies, urging that women be considered equally in testing, policy design, and implementation.

Sharing her experience on social media, Kriti wrote, “Women make up for half the humanity! It’s high time we invest in women’s health and include them equally while testing medicines, healthcare, and safety technologies. It was an honour to be a keynote speaker at the World Health Summit as UNFPA India’s honorary ambassador for Gender Equality. Glad I could shed light on a topic that needs urgent attention.”

The summit also provided a platform for global dialogue on health innovations and gender-focused interventions, bringing together leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world. Kriti expressed gratitude to UNFPA Executive Director Ms. Diene Keita, praising her inspiring leadership and commitment to advancing women’s health globally.

On the professional front, Kriti Sanon is set to appear in her upcoming film Tere Ishq Mein, starring alongside Dhanush, with a release scheduled for 28 November 2025.

This keynote reinforces Kriti Sanon’s commitment to gender equality and positions her as a leading voice advocating for systemic change in global women’s health policies and investments.
